Based in Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt and also online, I’m available to help you with a range of health issues – eczema, fatigue, anxiety, digestive issues, IBS, heavy periods, headaches, low immunity, and weight management, to name just a few. Often it’s when things are at their worst and multiple things are going wrong that clients find me, maybe when they can’t get an answer from their doctor or they’re just fed up with not feeling like they should!
Naturopathy (member NMHNZ)
What to expect at the first appointment
We’ll start with a detailed discussion about your health goals plus your health history, family history, signs and symptoms. Sometimes testing may be necessary to clarify things objectively, this may be in the form of bloods tests, food and environmental sensitivity hair tests, or hair tissue mineral analysis tests (to measure minerals and heavy metals), or other tests.
We’ll create a treatment plan together which may incorporate changes to your nutrition, and lifestyle, plus possibly homeobotanicals, supplements, essential oils, hydrotherapy, BodyTalk, NLP, Reiki. Often the treatment plan will need to provide support for several months, in order to make a change last long term many things have to be strengthened within the body/mind. This is part of not just treating the symptoms but understanding why those symptoms have occurred in the first place.
As an example, to treat eczema I look at food sensitivities as these might create or aggravate the eczema, plus strengthening the skin barrier, plus ensuring the digestive system and elimination pathways are functioning, provide support for the liver and kidneys, plus stress management. This can’t be done all at once as the body will just become more overwhelmed.

This testing is a form of kinesiology, a way of testing the bio-energetic status of the body’s key organs and glands using a proven testing technique of medically accepted reflex points. The points that are tested are based on high energy meridian centres – acupuncture/acupressure points. This testing provides a greater degree of accuracy when suggesting specific supplements and associated dosage for the individual. QRA is generally part of the initial consultation, however I can offer QRA testing as a standalone test.
Food and Environmental Sensitivity Hair Test
This involves sending a small hair sample to a lab to measure the degree of sensitivity to a range of approx. 100 foods and environmental substances.
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)
This involves sending a larger selection of hair (about 1 tablespoon) to a lab so that levels of minerals and heavy metals can be measured using a mass spectrometer. So much information can be learned via this test, for example if magnesium is lower then calcium you may have elevated cholesterol and blood pressure, a deficiency in magnesium may reduce ability to cope with stress and high calcium levels may result in calcium circulating in the blood and not getting into the bones.
CDSA Stool Tests
To identify causes of diarrhoea, presence of blood, presence of bacteria, parasites, or disease. Particularly helpful for on-going unexplained issues with digestion and bowel motions.
